
Thomas Jeffrey Hanks (born July 9, 1956) is an American actor and film director. He is well-known for his dramatic and comedic roles. Hanks is an American popular culture icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the father of Janet Marylyn, a hospital worker, as well as Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). The family of his mother, initially known as "Fraga" and was 100% Portuguese, while his father was of mostly English ancestry. Tom was raised in a "fractured family". He didn't have any acting experience in college. This is what made to launch his career. He was an auditioner in downtown Cleveland for the community theatre show. After that it was announced that he would be invited to Cleveland by the director. That was the point where his acting career started.
